2025 Hajj Accounts Reconciled, Preparations for 2026 Hajj Begins – NAHCON

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has clarified that preparations for the 2026 Hajj will not be hindered by unresolved financial issues, insisting that all refunds from the 2025 exercise have been settled.

Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts, Alhaji Rabiu Na’Allah, said on Wednesday that 19 states which requested reconciliation of pilgrims’ refunds had been duly paid, while outstanding cases involved states yet to initiate formal reconciliation. He added that refunds from previous years had also been cleared.

With the accounts closed, NAHCON urged state pilgrims’ boards and licensed tour operators to prioritise early remittance of Hajj fares in line with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s operational calendar.

The Commission stressed that prompt payment would secure essential services in Makkah, Madinah, and the Mashā’ir, and guarantee comfort and dignity for Nigerian pilgrims.
