3,110 Kano State Pilgrims Arrives in Saudi Arabia for Hajj

PRESS STATEMENT

A contingent of Kano State pilgrims has arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform this year’s (2024) Hajj pilgrimage.

The pilgrims were received by officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare board.

Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu the Head of Media Team for Kano State pilgrims and also the spokesperson of the Deputy Governor of Kano State disclosed this development in a press statement released to journalists.

According to Ibrahim, a total of 3,110 Kano  pilgrims will participate in the 2024 Hajj. 

The pilgrims comprise both government-sponsored and privately sponsored individuals.

The officials of the board in Makkah,  welcomed the pilgrims and urged them to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the holy city.

The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals, including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals. 

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it.
