$400 BTA: FCT cautions pilgrims against extravagance

Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, have cautioned FCT contingents against extravagance and other reckless lifestyle that can make them vulnerable during the Hajj exercise.

The admonition is coming following the increasing reports of loss of properties by some pilgrims, especially the first timer.

The officials who embarked on special enlightenment sessions aimed at exposing first timers to the best way to live in both Mecca and Medina, warned against activities capable of attracting severe penalty from the authorities of kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They regretted that despite repeated warning on the implications of extravagance, some of the pilgrims have recklessly spent their Basic Traveling Allowance, BTA.

According to them, the pilgrims should exercise caution in all their financial transactions in view of the remaining days ahead.

They also emphasized the importance of cleanliness and proper utilization of facilities provided at their various accommodations.

Some of the pilgrims expressed appreciation for the guidance and pledged to use the knowledge acquired to better their living conditions in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
