The Airport Police Command has arrested two pilgrims upon their arrival at Kotoka International Airport, Accra, for allegedly assaulting a member of the Communications Directorate of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) during this year’s Hajj operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, the incident occurred at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah while the communications team member was carrying out his official duties. The officer was taking photographs and recording videos as part of his assignment when he was physically attacked by the suspects.
Sources at the Ghana Hajj Board disclosed that the arrest was carried out by Airport Police personnel at Accra International Airport immediately after the pilgrims landed in Ghana.
The PAOG Communications Directorate is responsible for documenting and publicizing activities during the Hajj to keep stakeholders and families of pilgrims informed.
