Press Release

The Nasarawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially presented its 2026 Hajj operations report to Governor Abdullahi Sule at the Government House in Lafia.

The report was submitted by the leader of the state government delegation and State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Mohammed Usman, who also served as the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 pilgrimage.

Justice Usman applauded Governor Sule for prioritising the welfare of Nasarawa State pilgrims, noting that they received quality accommodation and adequate care throughout their stay in the Holy Land.

She attributed the pilgrims’ high level of discipline and maturity to the extensive enlightenment and orientation programs carried out by the Board under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Mallam Idris Almakura.

Justice Usman used the opportunity to appeal to the Governor to provide the Board with an ambulance vehicle to help address health-related challenges faced by pilgrims during future exercises.

In response, Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the Board’s leadership, including Executive Secretary Mallam Idris Almakura, Board Chairman Mallam Umar Usman Baba, and other board members for ensuring the overall success of the 2026 Hajj operation.
