Adamawa state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Yola says this year’s Hajj fare is expected to rise up to two million five hundred and sixty five thousand, and two hundred and sixty five naira and eighty four Kobo due to fall in the Value of Naira.
Executive Secretary of the commission Mallam Salihu Abubakar who disclosed this to newsmen in Yola said the Commission Received one thousand one hundred and sixty six seats out of the forty three thousand and eight slots that were allocated to Nigeria by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mallam Salihu appealed to the intending pilgrims who have earlier deposited their money to top-up their deposits to two million five hundred and sixty five thousand and two hundred and sixty five naira and wait for further information as the fare is not yet finalized.
The Commission Boss noted that some of the conditions for this Hajj include Covid nineteen immunization by the intending pilgrims, Negative PCR results of 72 hrs or less before departure from Nigeria as well as intending pilgrims must be less than 65 years of age.
He assured intending pilgrims that the commission will ensure Quality services adding that it will work hard to reduce the cost of accommodation while not compromising standard.
Mallam Salihu Abubakar explained that 80 percent of the state’s slots will be given to those who rolled over from 2019, 2022, 2021 and this year in that order while the remaining twenty percent will be shared between Hajj saving scheme, state government and local governments sponsors.
He urged the intending pilgrims who earlier rolled over to hasten and complete their payment before twenty six may twenty-twenty two.
It could be recalled that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has approved one million people to perform this year’s Hajj out of which eight hundred and fifty to come from outside the kingdom.
