The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise have reached an advanced stage, with plans to commence statewide orientation programmes after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the board’s public relations officer, Habibu Yusuf Babura, to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Jigawa State.
Director general of the board, Ahmed Labbo, said the orientation programme would cover all 27 local government areas immediately after Sallah.
He urged intending pilgrims to take full advantage of the sessions to acquire adequate knowledge of Hajj rites and procedures.
Labbo also congratulated Governor Umar Namadi and the people of the state on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, praying for the acceptance of their acts of worship.
He commended the governor for his continued support to the board, noting that it has enabled the provision of accommodation for pilgrims in close proximity to the Haram in Saudi Arabia.
