The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has closed registration for the 2027 Hajj after exhausting its allocation of slots from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, disclosed this yesterday while speaking with journalists in his office.
Kadiri, however, said intending pilgrims who had made initial deposits through the Board but were yet to complete their payments, as well as those who had not submitted their international passports, still have until Friday, September 25, 2026, to fulfil the requirements.
He urged affected pilgrims to meet the deadline, which he said was the closing date stipulated by NAHCON for Hajj registration.
According to him, international passports submitted by pilgrims must remain valid until November 2027.
He said other documents required include a copy of the National Identification Number (NIN) slip, four recent coloured passport photographs with a white background and dark clothing, and a duly completed guarantor’s form.
The guarantor’s form, he explained, must be accompanied by a copy of the guarantor’s work identity card and one passport photograph.
Pilgrims are also required to provide functional telephone contact numbers and other relevant documents as stipulated by the Board.
Edah said the early closure of registration was necessitated by the exhaustion of the FCT’s allocated slots, urging those who had already registered but were yet to complete their documentation or payment to do so before the deadline.
He reiterated the Board’s commitment to the welfare of FCT pilgrims through early preparations for the pilgrimage.
According to him, the Board is working towards ensuring timely airlifting of pilgrims, comfortable accommodation close to the Holy Haram in Makkah, as well as quality meals during their stay in the Holy Land.
The Board urged intending pilgrims to comply with all documentation and payment requirements within the stipulated timeframe to avoid complications ahead of the 2027 Hajj.
