The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has conducted the third phase of its education and orientation programme for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
The two-day exercise, held at the board’s Permanent Hajj Transit Camp in Bassan Jiwa, near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, attracted participants from all six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
Pilgrims from Abaji, Bwari, Abuja Municipal Area Council, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali, as well as those registered at the board’s headquarters and the Hajj Savings Scheme, attended the programme.
Participants received lectures from Islamic scholars and other stakeholders on Hajj and Umrah rites, proper conduct, policies, and regulations guiding the exercise in both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
The board said the sessions were delivered in seven Nigerian languages, including English, Hausa, Yoruba, Fulfulde, Nupe, Gana-Gana and Egbira, to ensure wider understanding among pilgrims.
The statement was signed by the Chief Information Officer of the board, Ahmad Saleh.
