Final Hajj 2025 Flight Departs Abuja, Concluding Nigeria’s Airlift with 41,568 Pilgrims

The last batch of Nigerian pilgrims for Hajj 2025 departed Abuja on Tuesday night, marking the successful completion of this year’s airlift operations.

 

Umza Air flight UMZ3440 took off from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 23:38hrs en route to Madinah, carrying 253 passengers — 22 pilgrims and 231 Hajj officials.

 

The breakdown of pilgrims onboard included:

 

* Federal Capital Territory (FCT): 2 females

* Nasarawa: 13 pilgrims (6 males, 7 females)

* Kaduna: 5 pilgrims (3 males, 2 females)

* Bauchi: 2 males

 

With this final flight, Nigeria successfully airlifted a total of 41,568 pilgrims across 105 flights, according to official data.

 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is expected to shift focus to monitoring pilgrims’ welfare in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as preparing for the return journey after the conclusion of Hajj rituals.
