Gov Radda bids farewell to Katsina pilgrims , Approves N578 million for Hadaya

Katsina state government has  earmarked over five hundred and seventy eight million   naira  to support all the two thousand  seven hundred and sixty intending pilgrims for their  hadaya one of the major obligations of the hajj rite 

State Gov Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda  confirmed  this in a farewell address to the intending pilgrims at the  headquarters of the state pilgrims welfare board.

 He said the money would be  paid through the state zakkat and waqaf board.

Accordingly he said the  state government had also set aside three hundred and ninety eight million naira for the annual sallah gift to the state  pilgrims  also at the holy land.

Governor Dikko Radda directed the management of the pilgrims board not to   listen to anybody as the state government had settled all the  hajj officials,, loaders,,and preachers their entitlements .

This he said was in addition to  preachers ,,desk officers and loaders from across the thirty four local governments in the state.

 He then urged those entrusted to serve the pilgrims to put the fear of Allah in the discharge of their responsibilities.

To the intending pilgrims, the governor urged them to be good Ambassadors of the state by adhering to Saudi regulations.and pray for the restoration of peace in the state.

On his part the leader of the state delegation to this year’s hajj who is also the state Amirul hajj Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi said twenty three committees were engaged to ensure better welfare of the pilgrims throughout their stay at the holy land.

Also speaking the executive director of the board Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama said of the four thousand five hundred seats allocated to the state,  2,760 were fully paid by the intending pilgrims adding that  visas had since been processed for them.

Also speaking the chairman of the state pilgrims welfare board Alhaji Kabir Bature Sarkin Alhazai  appreciated the state governor for selecting committed personalities to serve the pilgrims this year .

He observed that this year’s preparations for the annual hajj exercise was one of the best in recent times.

Others who spoke include the NAHCON commissioner in charge of the north west Sheikh Bin Usman and the yandakan katsina district Head of Dutsinma Alhaji Sada Mohamed Sada who spoke on behalf of the the two emirates of katsina and Daura.

Highlights of the occasion include the launching of hajj guide pamphlets  donated by MD Water board   Tukur Hassan Tingilin and presentation of Basic travelling allowances and hadya receipts  to the intending pilgrims.
