Hajj 2025: Ogun Govt Appoints Apelogun as Amirul Hajj, Unveils Welfare Committee

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the appointment of Prince Adebayo Apelogun, Chairman of ACOMORAN (Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria) in the state, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

 

In a statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the state government, also named 13 other individuals as members of the ad-hoc welfare committee tasked with ensuring the comfort, safety, and spiritual well-being of pilgrims from the state.

 

According to the release, Shaekh Ishaq Olorungbebe will serve as the committee chairman. Other appointed members include:

Sheik Lawal Iskeel (popularly known as Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, Sheik Wasiu Raheem Balogun, Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail Afolabi, TPL. Ogunfowora Kamoru Olayiwola, Alhaji (Imam) Hassan Tijani, Alhaji Hussein Oredipe Mustapha, and Alhaji (Imam) Uthman Akewukanwo.

 

The list also comprises female members: Alhaja Alarise Korede Fausat, Alhaja Egunjobi Kafilat Aderonke, and Alhaja Jinadu Zainab Iyabode.

 

The board emphasized the importance of the committee’s role in delivering a smooth and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage experience. Members were charged to execute their duties with diligence, dedication, and a high sense of responsibility.

 

The appointments underscore the Ogun State Government’s commitment to the welfare of its pilgrims and the overall success of the Hajj exercise.
