Libya Closes 2027 Hajj Registration With 1.2 Million Outstanding Applicants
More than 1.2 million people have registered for Libya’s 2027 Hajj lottery, according to final figures released by the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs after applications closed.
The authority recorded 1,209,306 registrations for the 1448 AH Hajj season, corresponding to 2027.
The total included 670,419 men and 538,782 women.
More Than 759,000 Register Through App
Most applicants used the authority’s electronic application, which recorded 759,232 registrations. Another 449,969 people registered through the official website.
The figures also showed that 157,894 applicants were over the age of 65.
During the registration period, 29,453 applications were cancelled.
With applications now closed, the authority will begin reviewing and sorting applicants’ information in preparation for the lottery.
Hajj Lottery Date Not Yet Announced
The authority said the date and locations for the 2027 Hajj lottery have not yet been determined.
Details will be announced after the necessary organisational arrangements are completed.
Applicants have been asked to follow official announcements for information about the date and locations of the draw, as well as any instructions related to the next stage.
The lottery will determine who receives the available places for the 2027 Hajj season.
Those selected will then proceed with the remaining administrative requirements, including completing their files and submitting the necessary documents ahead of the pilgrimage.
