The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has intensified staff training as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise, with a renewed focus on institutional efficiency and interdepartmental collaboration.

The initiative was part of the Commission’s Monthly In-House Lecture Series held on Thursday at the Hajj House, Abuja, with participation from zonal and outreach offices via Zoom.

This month’s session, themed “The Role of the National Reception Team in Successful Hajj Operation,” featured presentations by operational experts and was moderated by Professor Gabadeen, Deputy Rector (Academics), Hajj Institute of Nigeria.

Representing the NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Alidu Shutti, said the continuous training reflects the Commission’s commitment to building staff capacity for effective service delivery.

He noted that the exercise would also prepare the team for the upcoming Pre-Hajj trip to Saudi Arabia, where NAHCON is expected to sign the 2026 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and finalize key service agreements for Nigerian pilgrims.

The monthly lectures, Shutti added, will form part of staff performance evaluations and future promotion assessments.

The programme continues to serve as a core platform for enhancing professionalism, fostering teamwork, and strengthening NAHCON’s resolve to deliver a smooth and spiritually fulfilling 2026 Hajj operation.
