Press Release
With the deadline for the 2026 Hajj fare deposits concluded, the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Idris Ahmed Almakura, has convened a crucial meeting with the board’s management staff and Hajj coordinators across the state.
The primary agenda was to review the current status of intending pilgrims, focusing on two key groups:
- Those who have completed their Hajj fare payments.
- Those who were unable to meet the deposit deadline.
During the meeting, Mallam Idris Ahmed Almakura issued a firm and final directive, reiterating that the board has officially closed the collection of deposits for the 2026 pilgrimage. He explicitly charged all staff and coordinators not to accept any further deposits from intending pilgrims.
In a related development, the Executive Secretary directed the immediate commencement of the refund process for any intending pilgrim who paid above the exact 2026 Hajj fare as officially announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
This directive ensures strict adherence to the nationally approved fare structure, underscoring the board’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial dealings with pilgrims.
The Executive Secretary noted that the deposit window is irrevocably closed. Warning that coordinators are hereby directed to adhere strictly to this instruction and not collect any money from any individual for the 2026 Hajj fare. Our focus now shifts to the next stages of the process for those who have completed their payments.”
