The Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has completed visa processing for about 90 per cent of intending pilgrims from the state for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Executive Secretary of the board, Idris Ahmed Almakura, disclosed this in a statement issued in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Almakura, who spoke through the board’s Head of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Uzairu Shuaibu Mairiga, said that out of the 1,581 registered intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, a total of 1,543 have received their printed visas.
He explained that 31 intending pilgrims are awaiting verification of embassy forms, while the files of seven others are still being processed.
The board also confirmed the receipt of the mandatory electronic yellow cards for the state’s intending pilgrims.
Nasarawa State Desk Officer of Port Health Services, Sadiya Isa, said payments for the electronic yellow cards have been processed for 1,580 intending pilgrims.
Isa commended the pilgrims board for what she described as early preparations, noting that the state is among the first in the country to secure the health certification for its pilgrims.
The board assured intending pilgrims and the public of its commitment to a seamless and well-organised 2026 Hajj exercise.
