The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has secured assurances of support from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the State Primary Healthcare Development Board to ensure a smooth 2026 Hajj exercise.
During a courtesy visit to the Ogun Immigration Command in Abeokuta, State Comptroller of Immigration, Mrs. Olufunke Odusote, pledged timely passport processing for intending pilgrims in line with Saudi Arabia’s deadline. She urged Muslims to obtain passports early, noting that new computer-based systems had improved efficiency.
Executive Secretary of OGMPWB, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, praised the immigration service as a vital partner and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to sensitising pilgrims on early preparation.
In a separate visit to the State Primary Healthcare Development Board, Ajibola highlighted the possibility of Saudi authorities introducing new vaccination requirements. Responding, the State Immunisation Officer, Dr. Suraj Olayinka, assured that the board would provide full medical support, including screenings and fitness certificates, for pilgrims.
