Abiodun disclosed in a post on his X handle that the state government held a strategic meeting with the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards to ensure full operational readiness and compliance with aviation safety requirements.
He said the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to guarantee a smooth, safe and successful takeoff of the inaugural international flight from the airport.
The governor described the development as a major milestone in Ogun State’s aviation and pilgrimage operations, noting that the government is positioning the airport as a hub for international travel.
He expressed confidence that the measures being put in place would ensure seamless operations and a successful airlift of pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj.
