The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said that it has made arrangements for 13,000 intending pilgrims to the Hajj 2025 from Nigeria who will travel through registered private tour operators.

This was revealed by the Commissioner in charge of Operations at the commission, Prince Anofi Elegushi while briefing State House Correspondents at the State House Presidential Villa after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima.

HAJJ REPORTERS reports that Vice President Kashim Shettima has summoned the Chairman of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Sale and members of the board of the commission to brief him on preparations for Hajj this year.

Prince Elegushi also revealed that NAHCON has made arrangements for about 40,000 from the states and FCT.

“We have all of our accommodation intact in Mecca, Medina and other locations. They are ready to take our pilgrims, we have secured enough bed spaces and paid for adequate feeding for our pilgrims,” he said

The commissioner also said, “ All hands are on deck, and I can assure all Nigerian pilgrims that they are in safe hands. Adequate arrangements have been made for airlift in and out of Saudi Arabia. We have made arrangements for over 40,000 pilgrims, including officials from the states and 13,000 others from the tour operators,” .

The commissioner said they were in the Villa to brief the Vice President on the preparations for the upcoming Hajj operations.

Media reports have recently stated that some members of the board of NAHCON had petitioned Vice President Shettima accusing Professor Sale of sidelining them in taking decisions, especially with regard to procurement matters.
