The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board (JSPWB) has inaugurated the Principal Officers of the National Medical Team (NMT) in preparation ahead of the 2025 Hajj operations.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Pilgrims’ state head office in Dutse, is part of preparations for the inaugural airlift of Jigawa pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Umar Ahmed Labbo, inaugurated the 10-member team on Monday, urging the team to work with sincerity, patience, and unwavering dedication in serving the state’s pilgrims in the Holy Land.
Umar Labbo said the assignment is a sacred trust that the team should not take for granted.
Labbo commended Governor Umar Namadi for approving the team, which he said was the first time the state is sending such a number of medical personnel for a foreign assignment.
He stressed the divine nature of the team’s selection and the need to protect the welfare of Jigawa’s pilgrims throughout the exercise.
In his remarks, the head of the media team, Abdulrashid Yusuf, called on the members of the team to discharge their duties diligently, with a strong sense of responsibility and the fear of Allah.
He commended the state government for upscaling the number of the medical team to 10.
