Press Release

Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has remitted over N6 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as Hajj fare of the 2025 intending pilgrims from the state.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Labbo, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Dutse on Friday.

Labbo said that the board had distributed and sold the state’s allocation of over 1,000 Hajj seats to the 27 local government areas to the intending pilgrims.

Umar Labbo said the board had completed preparation including visas for the state’s pilgrims, now waiting for the first airlift from the state.

Labbo, however, advised the intending pilgrims from the state to be good representatives of the country by avoiding things that will spoil the name of the state and the country while in the Holy Land.

The Director General also advised the intending pilgrims to utilise the knowledge they gained on hajj in the conduct of the exercise at all levels.

Labbo, who advised them to adopt patience as their companion throughout the exercise, urged them to adhere to the guidelines provided by the board throughout the process.

He commended Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support to the Pilgrims Welfare Board, which he said made the board initiated various policies designed for better welfare and protection.
