The 2026 Amirul Hajj and Member, House of Representatives representing Wase Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmad Idris Maje has commended the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his unwavering support to the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and to the state’s Muslim pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Rt. Hon. Maje gave the commendation during the formal presentation of the 2026 Hajj Report to the Governor at the Government House, Jos.
The Amirul Hajj described the Governor’s support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims as exceptional, noting that his interventions contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
He particularly appreciated Governor Mutfwang for the financial assistance offered to Plateau pilgrims, as well as his support to the board throughout the Hajj exercise.
In recognition of the Governor’s outstanding contributions, the Amirul Hajj presented him with the “Distinguished Hajj Support Award – 2026.”
Rt. Hon. Maje also commended the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Daiyabu Dauda, describing him as the “permanent pillar” of the board due to his dedication, experience and effective administration of Hajj affairs in the state.
He further acknowledged the Chairman of the Board, Alh. Danladi Kwari, for his understanding, cooperation and effective leadership, which he said contributed immensely to the achievements recorded by the board.
The Amirul Hajj also praised the management and entire staff of the board for their teamwork, dedication and commitment, stressing that their collective efforts were instrumental to the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj operations.
Responding, Governor Mutfwang said his administration considers the sponsorship of both Muslim and Christian pilgrimages as a strategic investment in strengthening the fear of God and moral values among the people.
The governor explained that supporting religious pilgrimage is aimed at deepening spirituality, promoting peaceful coexistence and encouraging service to humanity.
According to him, pilgrimage provides an opportunity for people to reflect, strengthen their relationship with God, and return home with renewed commitment to peace and community service.
Governor Mutfwang assured the Muslim community that his administration would continue to support the 2027 Hajj exercise. He, however, noted that the level and manner of sponsorship would depend on the prevailing financial situation of the state, expressing optimism that the situation would improve.
The governor emphasized that supporting pilgrimage should not be viewed merely as expenditure but as an investment in peace, unity and moral development of the people of Plateau State.
He appreciated the Amirul Hajj, the leadership and management of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, and the entire Hajj team for ensuring the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
The high point of the occasion was the formal presentation of the 2026 Hajj Report by the Amirul Hajj, Rt. Hon. Ahmad Idris Maje, to the Executive Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The report highlighted the activities, achievements, challenges and overall performance of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board during the 2026 Hajj operations.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to appreciate the contributions of the state government, the board’s leadership, management, staff and other stakeholders toward the successful conduct of the exercise.
