Independent observers assessing the performance of Nigerian Hajj service providers in Saudi Arabia have ranked Mashariq Al Dhahabia ahead of Ekram ALDYF, citing better facilities, improved logistics, and enhanced pilgrim support, particularly in Mina and Makkah.
The report, which was compiled by the group to be submitted to NAHCON, highlights the comparative similarities and differences and also indicates the level of compliance with NAHCON’s service outline criteria.
The comparative analysis seen by HAJJ REPORTERS highlights that while both companies performed admirably in Madinah, Mashariq distinguished itself in Mina by providing bold electronic signboards that helped pilgrims easily locate their tents—an innovation not found in Ekram ALDYF’s camps.
Mashariq also earned praise for setting up additional urinary points to reduce waiting time, providing flat mattresses that allowed better space management, and creating social tents where pilgrims could prepare tea. In contrast, Ekram’s foldable beds, though seemingly comfortable, made space management difficult and created a seemingly unstructured environment.
Observers further noted that Mashariq equipped tents with extra fans as a backup to air conditioners, a comfort feature missing from Ekram’s setup. In addition, Mashariq promptly handed over clinics to the NAHCON medical team, whereas Ekram delayed usage, insisting on the inclusion of their personnel in the team
The report also noted the provision of extra tent space by Mashariq Al Dhahabia, a gesture which was done outside the contractual obligations.
Pilgrims served by Mashariq also commended the company’s timely response to requests and its recent gesture of distributing Al Baik meals to departing Nigerian pilgrims—an act of goodwill not covered by their contract with NAHCON.
While both companies were acknowledged for their efforts, the report concludes that Mashariq Al Dhahabia offered superior and more complementary services during the 2025 Hajj operations.
Details of the report will be published by HAJJ REPORTERS as soon as it is available and submitted to the relevant authorities.
