Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the release of N5 billion as a loan to the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to enable the state secure its allocation of 950 Hajj seats ahead of the December 5, 2025 payment deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Executive Secretary of the Board said the intervention became necessary to ensure Gombe pilgrims do not lose their slots for the 2026 Hajj exercise. He described the governor’s approval as a timely and decisive action taken in the interest of intending pilgrims across the state.

He added that the remaining Hajj slots will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, urging intending pilgrims to complete their payments promptly to avoid missing out.
