The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the closure of payment draft collection for the 2026 Hajj exercise, following the expiration of the deadline on Friday, December 5.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, the Director General of the Board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, confirmed the development during a stakeholders’ meeting, stating that no extension was granted after discussions with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria in Abuja last week.
He said the early closure was in line with new regulations issued by Saudi authorities, which require stricter compliance and earlier completion of administrative procedures for next year’s pilgrimage.
Danbappa assured intending pilgrims that the Board remains committed to delivering efficient services and meeting all international standards set for the Hajj.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yusif Lawan, commended stakeholders for their cooperation and urged registered pilgrims to remain patient as preparations move to the next phase.
