The Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a free general medical test and screening exercise for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj, with the exercise scheduled to end on February 6.

In a statement issued by the Board, all registered intending pilgrims across the state’s southern, central and northern zones were urged to participate in the mandatory screening at designated health facilities within their zones.

The Board said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that pilgrims are medically fit and properly cleared in line with Hajj requirements. Intending pilgrims are required to undergo the medical tests and submit their results to the Board upon completion.

The statement warned that participation in the screening is compulsory, stressing that any intending pilgrim who fails to take part in the exercise will not be allowed to travel to the Holy Land for the 2026 Hajj.

The Board advised pilgrims to comply with the schedule and complete the process before the February 6 deadline to avoid disqualification.
