The Director General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ahmad Umar Labbo, has urged the Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure seamless screening for intending pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj airlift.
Labbo made the call during a meeting with the state Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the board’s office, where both parties discussed strategies to strengthen security and improve operational efficiency for the exercise.
He stressed the need for efficient screening equipment and streamlined procedures at the airport to avoid delays and ensure timely boarding of pilgrims.
The director general also appealed for enhanced collaboration among security agencies to safeguard pilgrims and their property from the Hajj camp to the airport before departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Labbo commended the security agencies for their continued cooperation and expressed optimism about a successful 2026 Hajj operation.
In their response, the security agencies assured the board of full support, pledging to provide adequate security and ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims throughout the operation.
