The Zamfara State Government has commended the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Amb. Ismail Yusuf, for what it described as the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
A delegation led by the Managing Director of Gusau International Airport, Alhaji Kabiru Yahaya Gusau, conveyed the commendation during a courtesy visit to the NAHCON chairman at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
The delegation, which said it was sent by Governor Dauda Lawal, praised Yusuf’s leadership and coordination, noting that they contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Gusau said the governor appreciated the NAHCON chairman’s “exemplary leadership, strategic direction and effective coordination,” which ensured the success of the 2026 Hajj exercise. The delegation also expressed satisfaction with the services rendered to Nigerian pilgrims and the cordial relationship between NAHCON and the State Pilgrims Welfare Boards.
Responding, Yusuf thanked the Zamfara State Government for the recognition, attributing the success of the Hajj operations to the collective efforts of NAHCON staff, State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and other stakeholders.
He reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to improving service delivery for Nigerian pilgrims and strengthening collaboration with state governments in the administration of Hajj affairs.
