Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has completed a series of preparation meetings with pilgrim affairs offices in 78 countries for Hajj 1448, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The meetings are part of the ministry’s early preparation programme and took place before pilgrims arrive in the Kingdom.

What the Meetings Covered

The ministry and the offices went over how far each stage of the Hajj timetable has progressed. They also discussed the Comprehensive Package procedures and contracts with approved service providers.

Other topics were housing, transport, catering and the movement of pilgrims in groups. The sessions also covered awareness and guidance programmes, along with the rules that govern Hajj operations.

How the Ministry Is Working With the Offices

The ministry says it follows each office’s readiness on a continuous basis. Problems are spotted and dealt with early, and each stage has set responsibilities and deadlines. The aim is to move from preparation to operations with clear plans and measurable targets.

Electronic Track for Overseas Pilgrims

Contracts and arrangements for pilgrims from abroad are being completed through the Electronic Track. It includes more than 500 digital services and links with more than 80 government and operational bodies. More than 5,000 service providers are also connected to it.

SPA says the system speeds up procedures, records contracts and improves coordination between pilgrim affairs offices, service providers and the related authorities.

Preparation Started on 12 Dhul Hijjah 1447

Work on Hajj 1448 (2027) began on 12 Dhul Hijjah 1447. On that date, the ministry gave pilgrim affairs offices the Preparation Document and the timetable for the new season. A full review of the previous season followed, along with a search for areas to improve and coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Preparation Document sets out the stages of preparation, the roles and responsibilities, and the approved dates for each stage. This lets the ministry track progress and check that requirements are met on time.
