The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has commenced preparations for the 2027 Hajj by allocating pilgrimage seats to the state’s 21 local government areas and urging intending pilgrims to register early.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, announced the decision during a strategic debriefing and planning meeting with the commission’s management staff following the successful conclusion of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Department of Public Communications and Pilgrims Enlightenment, Salihu briefed the management team on the successes and challenges of the 2026 operation and charged members to begin implementing a comprehensive operational plan for the 2027 pilgrimage.

He said the release of the 2027 Hajj calendar by the relevant authorities makes early planning imperative, stressing that the commission must improve on its previous performance.

The acting chairman also approved the allocation of Hajj seats to the 21 local government areas to facilitate early grassroots mobilisation and ensure equitable distribution.

He urged intending pilgrims to complete their registration and payments before September 2026 to secure their slots, warning that the new Hajj calendar requires the early submission of pilgrims’ data to the relevant international authorities.
