The Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and ethical financial management as it presented its audited accounts to members at the second day of its Annual General Meeting.

Presenting the audited financial statements, AHUON Vice President (Hajj), Ikrimah Mohammad, said the association remained committed to prudent financial management despite economic pressures, foreign exchange fluctuations and operational challenges affecting the global Hajj and Umrah industry.

“The Hajj and Umrah industry remains a sacred trust, as we are privileged to serve the Guests of Allah. This responsibility demands integrity, transparency and utmost dedication in all our dealings. As an association, we have continued to uphold these principles in both our operations and financial management,” he said.

Mohammad said the audited accounts had been examined by external auditors, who confirmed that the financial statements presented a true and fair view of the association’s financial position for the period under review.

“In line with our commitment to transparency and good governance, the financial statements have been duly examined by our external auditors, who have expressed their opinion that the accounts present a true and fair view of the association’s financial position,” he said.

He added that AHUON had intensified efforts during the year to strengthen regulatory compliance, improve members’ capacity and promote best practices in Hajj and Umrah operations while engaging relevant authorities to enhance service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.

Looking ahead, Mohammad expressed confidence in the association’s future, saying, “With trust in Allah, unity among members and adherence to ethical standards, we are confident that the association will continue to grow stronger and deliver greater value to all stakeholders.”

He thereafter presented the audited financial statements to members for consideration and approval.
