BREAKING: NAHCON Board Orders Redeployment of Pool Staff
The Board of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved the immediate redeployment of all pool staff serving in the commission. The move was part of the boards resolutions to save the image of the commission and to reposition NAHCON for professional services delivery as enshrined in its NAHCON Establishment Act 2006
The decision was taken during a two-day marathon meeting where members resolved that all officials not directly employed by NAHCON should return to their parent ministries.
Those affected include the Director of Administration, Deputy Director Audit, Deputy Director Procurement and a Deputy Director in the chairman’s office, who also doubled as Special Assistant to NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman Saleh.
A source told Hajj Reporters that the affected officers received their redeployment letters on Thursday and are expected to resume at their ministries next week.
It will be recalled that Vice President Kashim Shettima had earlier directed the NAHCON leadership to discontinue the practice of placing non-commission staff in key positions, urging the commission to train and retain its personnel for improved service delivery.
