The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT MPWB), Abuja, has intensified preparations for a hitch-free Hajj exercise with a strategic meeting focused on the upcoming Mina outing.

The meeting, held at the Board’s Makkah House, brought together operational staff and members of the Ministerial Committee on the 2026 Hajj exercise for the FCT. It reviewed operational policies and offshore guidelines, while also assessing the health status of pilgrims, logistics, and overall welfare ahead of the Mina rituals.

Chairman of the Ministerial Committee and Chief of Staff to the Minister of State, FCT, Abdullahi Isah Kauran Mata, urged officials to step up support for pilgrims to ensure they achieve an acceptable Hajj and get value for their resources. He stressed the need to prioritise medical care, environmental hygiene, quality feeding, and continuous religious orientation sessions.

Earlier, Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, noted that the Board had recorded key successes, including being rated highly by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for pilgrims’ feeding, timely airlift of intending pilgrims, and the proximity of accommodation to the Holy Mosque in Makkah. He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims for a seamless exercise.

The statement was signed by the Chief Information Officer, FCT MPWB, Ahmad Saleh.
