FLIGHT CANCELLED DURING YOUR UMRAH? READ THIS GUIDE

by admin

Following recent security developments in Saudi Arabia, some flights have been disrupted. If you are travelling for Umrah or already in Saudi Arabia, it is important to know what to do if your flight is cancelled or delayed.

Not every airport or flight is affected, and the situation can change. Always check your own flight status through official channels.

1. Contact your airline first.

Check the airline’s official website, app, or customer service. Ask whether your flight is cancelled, delayed, or rescheduled, and what alternative flights are available.

Ask about accommodation, meals, and other assistance you may be entitled to.

2. Contact your Umrah travel agency.

If you booked through an agency, inform them immediately. Ask them to coordinate with the airline and assist with rebooking, hotel arrangements, and transport if necessary.

Keep your booking confirmation and all messages about the cancellation.

3. Make sure you have somewhere to stay.

If your departure is delayed, contact your hotel before your booking expires. Ask whether you can extend your stay and confirm the cost.

If you are asked to check out and have nowhere to go, contact your travel agency or airline immediately to seek assistance.

4. Keep your essential documents with you.

Keep your passport, visa details, flight booking, medication, phone charger, and emergency funds accessible. Save digital copies of your important documents and keep your phone charged.

5. Contact your embassy or consulate if necessary.

If you are stranded and cannot resolve the situation through your airline or travel agency, contact your country’s embassy or consulate in Saudi Arabia for advice about available assistance.

6. Follow official updates.

Check your airline, airport, and local authorities for the latest information. Follow any safety instructions issued by the authorities.

Avoid relying on forwarded messages or unverified social media posts. A disruption affecting one airport or route does not necessarily mean all Saudi airports or flights are affected.

Above all, stay calm and confirm your options before making costly alternative arrangements.

May Allah protect every pilgrim, ease the difficulties of those stranded away from home, and reunite them safely with their families. May He keep the people of Makkah and Madinah safe and accept the Umrah of all those who have travelled with sincere intentions. Ameen.
