For the first time in Saudi Arabia’s history, pilgrims completing Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Mecca will be able to exit the state of Ihram directly within the mosque’s courtyard.

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced a trial operation of the service during Ramadan, offering further convenience for worshippers.

The initiative provides designated locations for male pilgrims to conclude their sacred journey by shaving or trimming their hair, a required step in completing Umrah.

Five sites have been set up opposite the Marwa area, where mobile units equipped with sterilised tools are available to accommodate the influx of visitors.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to improve services for the millions who visit the holy sites annually.

The operation is supervised by a team of specialized experts, ensuring smooth, rapid service while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.
