The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board today presented its comprehensive report for the 2026 Hajj operation to the Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi.
The presentation was attended by the Amirul Hajj of Jigawa State, His Royal Highness the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi.
During the submission, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo FCFA, highlighted the remarkable achievements that propelled Jigawa State to the number one rank among pilgrim boards nationwide, a significant rise from its previous position of twenty-fourth, driven by its commitment to honest and just operations.
In a demonstration of transparency, the agency returned over 27 million naira to the treasury and refunded over 43 million naira as surplus funds for Hadaya to the pilgrims
The director general expressed sincere gratitude to the governor for his continued support and collaboration, which has been instrumental in the board’s consistent success.
He also acknowledged with appreciation the approval and release of over 3.5 billion naira for Hajj seat deposits.
Governor Namadi commended the Director General, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo FCFA, as a highly dedicated civil servant, noting that his transparency and incorruptibility have helped elevate the state to unprecedented heights, and he urged him to continue on the path of truth and justice.
The governor also praised the Amirul Hajj for his esteemed leadership.
The Amirul Hajj, in his remarks, stated that the Director General’s over 35 years of experience have been pivotal to these accomplishments, including the national ranking and services like free eye care for Jigawa pilgrims.
