Borno State Muslim Pilgrims Board has received a total number of One Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety Five hajj seat from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON for this year hajj.
This was revealed to the staff of the Board by the Executive Secretary recently.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Ali Malam Bukar, in Maiduguri who reveals this in Maiduguri recently advised intending Pilgrims who have made deposits to complete their payment to the tune of Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only (N2,500,000.00) pending the announcement of this year’s Hajj Fare by the National Hajj Commission, adding that if the fare is less than the amount deposited, the difference will be refunded to them.
Alhaji Ali Malam Bukar explained that the huge increase in this year’s fare is largely due to the high exchange rate of the Dollar.
The Executive Secretary also informed Desk Officers, Fare Collectors and other relevant Stakeholders in the Hajj operation to educate intending Pilgrims on the need to be fully vaccinated before they are allowed to perform this year’s Hajj. He advised them to study thoroughly the health requirements and guidelines for the 2022 Umrah and Hajj Pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Ali Malam Bukar said immediately after the Eid-el-fitr holiday break, Da’awah enlightenment and education program will commence in earnest.
