As preparations for the 2025 Hajj intensify, the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has launched a comprehensive enlightenment tour across the state’s three senatorial zones to educate intending pilgrims on key aspects of the sacred journey.
The statewide tour, which commenced this week, will cover Zones A, B, and C, reaching various training centres where prospective pilgrims are being sensitised on both the spiritual and logistical components of the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Jibrin Usman Kodo, the initiative aims to equip pilgrims with vital information on Hajj rituals, welfare arrangements, health precautions, and general conduct during the holy exercise.
During interactive sessions, directors from the Board emphasised the significance of understanding the rules, responsibilities, and the deeper spiritual meaning of the Hajj. They encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to ask questions and engage in discussions to clarify doubts.
“We want our pilgrims to be fully prepared spiritually, physically, and mentally for this sacred journey,” said one of the facilitators during the session. “This enlightenment tour is a crucial step toward ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj for all participants.”
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every intending pilgrim from Niger State is well-informed and properly guided throughout the Hajj process. The enlightenment campaign is expected to continue throughout the week until all designated centres across the three zones have been reached.
