The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has refuted some media reports that it has started collecting advance hajj fees seats from the intending pilgrims.
This was contained in a press release issued and made available to the Blueprint in Sokoto by the head of Information and Communications department of the PWA, Malam Danmalam Bashir Balarabe.
According to the statement, the Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, has appealed to the prospective pilgrims to exercise more patience and remain at alert as the agency will soon come out with elaborated mode of payment.
Aliyu Musa reiterated the agency’s commitment to ensure Sokoto state remain at fore front of conducting a successful and hitch-free Hajj operations.
Part of the statement reads: “This is to bring to the notice of general public that the Sokoto state Pilgrims Welfare Agency hasn’t yet make any pronouncement regarding the collection of 2025 Hajj advance fee.
“This is to debunk the speculations and rumours going on stating that the Agency had already spoke on the matter.
“Meanwhile the Agency is appealing to the teaming people of the state, especially intending pilgrims to please exercise patience and remain at alert as we are committed to ensuring Sokoto State will continue to be at fore front in conducting a successful and hitch free Hajj operations.
“We will announce every details concerning the forthcoming Hajj, as soon as all formalities are completed within a short while.”
