(A short reminder)

Permit to kick start this gentle reminder with the above valuable “peace be upon you’ greeting.

The 2026 Hajj preparation has started with many countries now ending pilgrims registration after receiving enough applications.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah sets the 23rd of August as the date for making financial commitments to retain the Mina Camp used by Nigerian pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj.

Sirs, today is the 27th of August 2025, 5 days after the end of the date set for the payment for Mina Camp by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Has  NAHCON made any commitment, or is there any plan to adhere to these important guidelines?

Pakistan has ended its 2026 Hajj registration, the Indonesian parliament has approved funds to be used to secure their Camp to avoid ‘ a later comer story’, and they have made the payment. Kenya closed its registration last week after making a partial payment to secure its Camp location.

Bangladesh officials are currently in Saudi Arabia to pin down their Camp.

It is important to remind us that Hajj operations have gone beyond the traditional mode of doing things the way it suits our peculiar ways.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj has said they will not extend any of the timeline, and I hope we will not end up being locked out of the 2026 Hajj.

NAHCON, are you ready for the 2026 Hajj?
