As part of efforts to ensure comprehensive coverage of Hajj 2026, the team assembled by Hajj Reporters to monitor and report on the pilgrimage has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The team is led by the National Coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), Ibrahim Mohammed.
Mohammed was the first to arrive in Madinah earlier in the week, while the Director of Publications of IHR, Sani Tukur, joined him in the Prophet’s City on Sunday. Also en route to Madinah is the organisation’s Secretary-General, Nurudeen Abdallah.
The team will work along with IHR Media partners in Saudi Arabia
Speaking on the development, Mohammed said the organisation had deployed a strong team not only to provide extensive coverage of Hajj 2026 for Hajj Reporters, but also to monitor Hajj operations on behalf of its parent civil society organisation, Independent Hajj Reporters.
“We have a solid team on ground to not only report on Hajj 2026 for Hajj Reporters, but also monitor the operations for the main CSO, Independent Hajj Reporters,” he said.
The National Coordinator further disclosed that with more officials arriving in Madinah, he would proceed to Makkah on Sunday evening to commence monitoring activities ahead of the main Hajj rites.
Hajj Reporters is known for providing detailed coverage of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, while its NGO arm, Independent Hajj Reporters, monitors and holds accountable officials and service providers responsible for pilgrims’ welfare.
