Hajj 2026: Plateau Pilgrims Perform Umrah, Committees Inaugurated

The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Hajj 2026: Plateau Pilgrims Perform Umrah, Committees Inaugurated Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, has urged pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj to conduct themselves responsibly and project the state positively during the pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dauda advised the pilgrims to obey the rules and regulations guiding the Hajj exercise and the laws of Saudi Arabia, assuring them that their welfare remained a priority throughout the pilgrimage.
He also inaugurated several committees to ensure smooth coordination of Hajj operations. The committees include the central working committee headed by the 2026 Amirul Hajj, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Maje, disciplinary committee chaired by Justice Yahaya Muhammad Kanam, as well as feeding, medical, transport, luggage, publicity and preachers committees.
Meanwhile, the board confirmed that all Plateau pilgrims had safely arrived in Makkah after completing their stay in Madina and performing Umrah.
The pilgrims, who arrived in batches between May 9 and May 11, are currently observing prayers at Masjid al-Haram ahead of the commencement of Hajj rites on 9th Dhul-Hijjah in Mina.
