Hajj 2027: The Countdown Has Begun — How Many Days Does Nigeria Have for Each Key Activity?

by admin

With the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah unveiling the roadmap for Hajj 2027, the clock has started ticking for the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), state pilgrims’ welfare boards and intending pilgrims.

From today, June 11, 2026, here is how much time remains before each major milestone in the Hajj calendar:

48 Days Until Service Package Agreements Open

July 29, 2026

Nigeria has 48 days to conclude preparations before the opening of agreements for tents in Mina, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, transportation and catering services through the Masar Nusuk platform.

The same date marks the commencement of agreements with airlines that will airlift pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

65 Days Until Pilgrims’ Data Upload Begins

August 14, 2026

In 65 days, Hajj authorities will begin uploading pilgrims’ details onto the Masar Nusuk platform, a crucial step in securing services and visa processing.

107 Days Until Registration Deadline

September 26, 2026

Assuming Saudi authorities maintain the deadline communicated to participating countries, Nigeria has 107 days to complete pilgrim registration and finalize the list of intending pilgrims.

For prospective pilgrims, this may effectively serve as the final window for payment and documentation.

150 Days Until Airline Documentation Window Closes

November 8, 2026

Nigeria has 150 days to finalize agreements with designated airlines and complete related documentation on the Masar Nusuk platform.

The same day is expected to witness the signing of bilateral Hajj agreements between participating countries and Saudi Arabia.

196 Days Until E-Wallet Funding Closes

December 24, 2026

The transfer of Saudi-side service payments to the Masar Nusuk e-wallet platform will end in 196 days.

Failure to meet financial obligations before this date could affect access to accommodation and other services.

227 Days Until Service Package Contracts Close

January 23, 2027

Nigeria has 227 days to complete all contractual arrangements covering accommodation, feeding, transportation and Mina tent allocations.

232 Days Until Visa Issuance Begins

January 28, 2027

In 232 days, Saudi authorities will commence the issuance of Hajj visas.

The same date also marks the deadline for uploading pilgrims’ information onto the Masar Nusuk system.

302 Days Until First Hajj Flights

April 8, 2027

Nigeria has 302 days before the commencement of Hajj flight operations to Saudi Arabia.

By this stage, all logistics, documentation and pilgrim orientation activities are expected to have been concluded.

339 Days Until Arafat Day

May 15, 2027

The Day of Arafat, the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, is expected to fall in 339 days, subject to the sighting of the moon.

The Bottom Line

The Saudi timetable leaves little room for delays. With just 107 days until pilgrim registration is expected to close and only 48 days before key service negotiations begin, Nigerian Hajj authorities must move quickly to secure accommodation, transportation and other services if they are to avoid the last-minute challenges that have affected previous exercises.
