Henceforth, Pilgrims May pay Hajj fare directly into NAHCON account – Chairman

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCOH), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi has said that so far, the Commission had airlifted over 23,000,00 out of 51,477,00 intending pilgrims Nationwide.

Arabi said the airlift was successfully carried out in 54 flights operations from various Nigeria airports to the Saudi Arabia Kingdom.

According to him, the number of the airlifted pilgrims will from Tuesday doubled because some of the centers would start witnessing double flights or thrice as such we are going forward.

The Chairman further reveals that the commission is looking toward a situation whereby pilgrims pays there monies directly to the commission account.

He added that the idea of paying the Hajj fares directly was aimed at solving problems being witnessing by intending pilgrims.

The chairman disclosed this on Monday ahead of the inaugural Sokoto state airlifts flights scheduled to begin on Tuesday in the state.

He noted that this year’s operations is going to record unprecedented achievements while praying for Allah’s help to achieved hitch free operation exercise.

While expressed optimistic to conclude all the airlifts of pilgrims before the 2rd June so that the pilgrims settled fully equip and prepare themselves for proper pilgrimage on 13th to 14th of June.

He commended the Sokoto State Government for committing its resources in completing the Hajj terminal.

The chairman who recalls that the federal government some years back had come up with pilot scheme of constructing Hajj terminal that will be digitalised .

He said Sokoto State was the first to enjoy that privilege among other states but noted that the constructing site got prose .

Arabi noted that the Sokoto State government on its wisdom requested federal government to allow it to complete the project.

The Tuesday flights, the screening of the pilgrims would commence the completed digitalize terminal.

So, it is not to say that somebody had collected, money that had generated interest and then you are asking for interest is long story.

But the truth of the matter is that after the Hajj exercise anybody that would have deposited his money in time with a very good exchange rate at that particular time and something happened certainly if he has a gain by the time we comeback we will reconcile and we will refund them their money .

He calls on the Nigerian pilgrims to be law abiding, patient, respect their officials and avoid being angry and follow the official’s instructions.
