How to Check or Verify a Visit Visa
The Muqeem Portal offers a simple way to check the validity of any visit visa. To use the service, follow these steps:
- Visit the Muqeem Portal.
- Choose “Visa Verification.”
- Select the verification type.
- Fill in the required verification fields.
- Click “Check.”
This service helps verify all kinds of visit visas for visitors entering Saudi Arabia.
Converting a Visit Visa to a Residence Permit
The General Directorate of Passports explained the conditions for converting a visit visa into a residence permit (iqama) for children of residents in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Directorate, if both parents hold valid residency permits, the visit visa of their children under 18 years old can be converted into a residency permit through the passport department.
Family Visit Visa Extension
The Absher Platform previously confirmed that it is possible to extend a family visit visa for children. The extension can be done for the same duration as the original visa, but the total stay period must not exceed 270 days.
Visit Visa Renewal Services Through the Absher Platform
The General Directorate of Passports allows the renewal of many types of visas, including the single-visit visa, which can be renewed electronically through the Absher platform.
Extending a Single-Visit Visa After Expiration
A beneficiary asked the Passports Department about the possibility of extending a single-visit visa 200 days after its expiration. The Department clarified that the total extension period for a visit visa cannot exceed 180 days in total.
The Passports Department also confirmed that the extension must be done through the host’s Absher account (whether individual or business) within 7 days before the visa expires.
