Press Release
The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board allocated hajj seats to all 27 local government facilitators for the upcoming hajj exercise.
The state’s Governor, Umar Namadi, approved the seat allocation to enable the facilitators to guide the state’s intending pilgrims while performing the hajj rituals in the Holy Land.
On Sunday, the Director General of the Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Ahmad Labbo, disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Dutse, the state capital.
Malam Umar Labbo said the Pilgrim Welfare Board initiated the gesture, the first of its kind in the state, to consolidate the successes of hajj operations in the state.
Labbo said that the facilitators consisted of males and females drawn from each of the 27 Local Government Areas of the state, have a vast knowledge of the hajj tenet, and are expected to guide the prospective pilgrims at designated centers in Saudi Arabia.
The DG added that the seats were allocated them to ensure prospective pilgrims’ proper guidance on the hajj exercise’s basic tenets in Saudi Arabia.
He said the Pilgrims Welfare Board initiated the gesture to properly educate pilgrims throughout the exercise to prepare them to conduct the hajj in accordance with Islam’s teachings and be good ambassadors of the Nigeria while in the holy land.
The DG commended Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support to the Pilgrim Welfare Board and the intending pilgrims in the state.
