In a mark of transparency, the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has begun processing refunds for pilgrims across the state following the federal government’s downward review of 2026 Hajj fares.

Director General of the board, Ahmed Umar Labbo, announced the development on Thursday, confirming that the exercise is in line with a directive issued by the federal government.

To ensure a smooth refund process, Labbo directed all zonal officers to immediately start collecting applications from affected pilgrims along with valid bank account details. He said the board is committed to ensuring that payments reach beneficiaries without delay.

Labbo also stated that preparations for the 2026 #Hajj are already well underway both in Jigawa and in Saudi Arabia, with the board working to secure improved arrangements for the state’s contingent.

He urged intending pilgrims to complete payment for their Hajj seats on or before December 24 to avoid complications or possible disqualification. Labbo also expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support to the board and the welfare of Jigawa pilgrims.
