The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has extended the deadline for registration of intending pilgrims to 2025 Hajj to the first week of March, which is mid Ramadan 2025.
Though, The Chairman of NAHCON, Prof Saleh Abdullahi Usman while speaking to BBC Hausa said the registration has been extended till the first week of Ramadan
In the Audio of the vote of thanks by NAHCON Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Olarewaju Elegushi during the Courtesy Visit by Governor Zulum yesterday, he said the commission has extended the registration to mid Ramadan to allow intending pilgrims registered for 2025 Hajj.
“It is very important for us to defend our slots because many countries are seeking for additional slots. Countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, are seeking more slots and Saudi Arabia might decide to give our slots to them. We are able to utilised all our quota in 2023. This is the second time we may not be able to utilised all the 95,000 slots. That is why we are appealing to you, that if there is anything you can help us do to increase our registration, we will be happy. The window of hajj registration is still open. We have extended registration to mid-Ramadan which is about a month from now” he said
NAHCON had earlier extended the pilgrims registration to the 10th of February to allow more pilgrims registered for 2025 hajj and also gave room for those has deposited to complete payments
