Press Release
The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has commenced the refund of unused meal allowances to pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Dr Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo (Jagaban Gwandu), directed the payment of the refunds under the supervision of the Director of Finance, Alh Faruku Umar, at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking during the exercise, Alh Faruku Umar explained that the refund followed a directive by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to return the outstanding funds to pilgrims following a surplus identified in the 2026 Hajj arrangements.
The refund covers pilgrims from all the 21 Local Government Areas of Kebbi State, as well as Kebbi Government Officials (KGO) who participated in the pilgrimage.
Each pilgrim is entitled to approximately ₦7,200 as a refund for unused meal allowances in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
Pilgrims are required to present their international passports for proper identification and verification before collecting their refunds.
Kebbi State had more than 4,000 pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
