King Salman Sends Condolences to Norway’s King Haakon Over Death of King Harald V

JEDDAH, August 29, 2026 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has expressed condolences to King Haakon VIII of Norway following the reported death of King Harald V.

In a cable of condolences and sympathy, King Salman conveyed his deepest sympathies to King Haakon VIII, the family of the deceased monarch, and the people of Norway.

The Saudi monarch extended his sincere condolences to the Norwegian royal family and described the loss as a moment of sorrow for the Kingdom of Norway.

The message was sent from Jeddah on Saturday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

King Harald V was the reigning monarch of Norway and had served as head of state since 1991.
